The History of West Valley Baptist Church
From establishment to present day
On January 3, 1988 West Valley Baptist Church held its first service in the old Senior Center on Lincoln Street in Woodland, California with 29 people in attendance. By the end of the first year the church had grown to around 65 people and there was a need for a nursery, classrooms, and other necessary ministries. The church located an affordable storefront on California Street. Soon they expanded to the store front next door to add more classrooms. The church started a building fund at the end of 1989. The church then located five acres and purchased the property three miles west of town. By the fall of 1991, West Valley Baptist Church moved into its new building.
Since then the church has seen many souls saved, baptized and added to their membership. The church has also completed numerous building projects and added buildings. West Valley has had the privilege to start several new ministries including a bus ministry, children’s club, a Christian school and Spanish department and has watched God work in a miraculous way.
